For healthcare professionals
Living with Dry Eye Disease has an impact on both health-related and vision-related Quality of Life (QoL). Patients are more likely to experience challenges with screen-based activities such as watching television or using computer devices, driving and working and also report greater impairment associated with fatigue, pain, depression, total symptom burden and QoL10 and impairment of productivity at work11.
Preventing Dry Eye flare completely can be challenging; but involves preventing environmental triggers such as excessive screen time, air conditioning and / or dusty, windy conditions. Good pre-operative care for cataract patients is also important, along with eyelid hygiene and regular use of a preservative-free bioprotective 12,13,14,15,16, lubricant such as Thealoz Duo®.
