Biography

Professor Christine Purslow PhD, BSc (Hons), MCOptom has over 35 years’ experience in eye care, across a wide range of settings including high street and hospital optometry, and in senior roles within academia as a published researcher and Professor, and in Medical Affairs within the ophthalmic pharmaceuticals industry. Chris has authored over 100 scientific papers and professional articles, supervised 18 PhD students, and still really enjoys delivering engaging presentations to eye care professionals. Chris’s passion is supporting others to succeed and deliver excellent care, with her roots firmly in eye care, and in 2020 moved to become Director of Optometry at SpaMedica, leading a team of over 150 specialist optometrists across their eye hospitals. In 2023, she was promoted to Clinical Director of Outpatients at SpaMedica.
